Technician, A-13 SUMMARY The Custodian performs custodial work for the Angleton Recreation Center and citywide parks.
This position is safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position.

Establishes and maintains a schedule of routine janitorial maintenance and cleaning of facilities and citywide parks.
This may include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of furniture, woodwork, and equipment Ensures pavilion/park rentals are maintained and cleaned after each rental Refills and cleans park restroom facilities with paper and soap products Disposes of park waste can trash timely and appropriately Assists with event set-up and tear-down/clean up Collects and properly disposes of all indoor and outdoor trash and recycling Cleans windows, walls, and ceilings Moves furniture or equipment for city operations and special events Cleans and sanitizes all restrooms and locker rooms Must have excellent job attendance and punctuality Perform any other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) At least one year's experience in janitorial/custodial work is preferred.
Special Certificates, Licenses, and Designations Texas Class C Driver's License in good standing Must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within 6 months of hire date.
REQUIRED SKILLS Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to read and understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets), labels on containers, street signs, and daily work schedules.
Ability to perform basic math to count boxes for deliveries and take gross measurements of liquids.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule given.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing as well as understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance, including vacuum cleaners, buffers, ladders, mop and bucket, brooms, handcarts, and cleaning supplies.
