6K a year 4 hours ago 4 hours ago 4 hours ago Classification Non-exempt Reports to VP of Coatings Interacts with (daily/weekly) Customers Project Managers Superintendents General Contractors 3rd Party Q/A Inspectors Summary / Objective The Paint Shop Quality Control/Tracker Specialist shall possess knowledge and skills relating to the application of protective coatings in the paint shop and the ability to track projects through the blasting/coating process.
This specialist should be familiar with and have experience in applying protective coatings, operating test equipment, monitoring the application of the coatings, and enforcing company, industry, and manufacturers specifications.
Must be familiar with safety standards applicable to coating applications per OSHA standards.
Essential Functions Assures that all Marquis coating specifications and safety standards are adhered to Performs routine test on materials or finished projects to ensure results meet company quality standards Organize and analyze data for weekly and monthly reports Keeps detailed records of quality inspections to identify defective work and corrective actions plans Tracks projects on tracking software from start to finish When requested submit technically accurate daily reports Apply NACE standards as required Provide technical advice and assistance when needed Preparation and implementations of project quality management systems Communicate effectively with key project partners Perform daily inspections utilizing coating inspection equipment and general observations Any other duties as assigned by management.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.

Must be able to work in the elements Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full- time position.
Days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
Must be able to work extended work hours beyond the normal worksite hours and any additional overtime with little to no prior notification Travel Required to travel to various customer sites, as required.
Required Education and Experience Graduation from High School or GED equivalent Knowledge of computers and relevant Microsoft office software - primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook NACE Level II Certification required - with three (3) to five (5) years of practical experience in coating applications Two to Three years of experience working in industrial construction Knowledge of painting and coating processes and knowledge of which coatings are used in different systems Preferred Education and Experience Strong attention to detail.
Excellent multi-tasking ability Prior knowledge with tracking software a plus Additional Eligibility Qualifications Two years of increasingly responsible related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Preferred individual would be Bilingual.
Experience working in an industrial environment.
